3rd NordicRAS Workshop on Recirculating Aquaculture Systems

For the third time the Nordic Network on Recirculating Aquaculture Systems (NordicRAS) arranges a RAS workshop which this times takes place in Molde at the western coast of Norway. So far more than 200 people from 26 countries are ready for two days of knowledge sharing.

The workshop will be held in Molde, Norway 30 September – 1 October 2015. The workshop is followed by an excursion on 2nd October visiting state-of-the-art commercial and research RAS facilities.

The workshop is organized by NordicRAS together with the Technical University of Denmark (DTU Aqua) and Nofima, who is the local host. This biennial workshop aims at bringing together engineers, scientists, farmers, managers, equipment and systems manufacturers, consultants and other professionals with an interest in emerging RAS related issues. Exhibition area will be located at the Scandic Seilet hotel lobby where companies will be able to present themselves to the workshop audience.

Topics of the workshop are:

  • Diet raw materials & RAS (recirculating aquaculture systems) performance
  • Particles in RAS
  • Gasses in RAS
  • Microbial water quality in RAS
  • Fish health in RAS
  • Energy and system optimization
  • Partial reuse RAS
  • Complete system approach

The participants will have the opportunity to visit the land based and sea cage facilities of Lerøy Midt in Belsvik, and Nofima’s Centre for Recirculation in Aquaculture at Sunndalsøra during excursion.
