CtrlAQUA partner Freshwater Institute is taking part in organizing a session on recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) for the World Aquaculture Society (WAS) meeting in San Diego, California, being held February 28–March 4, 2022 (Aquaculture 2022).

Abstract deadline for the session is November 1, 2021.

The session will be focused on topics related to successes and challenges in RAS production, including:

  • early maturation
  • optimizing growth and fillet yields
  • off-flavor remediation
  • waste management
  • unit process improvements
  • feeds
  • sustainability
  • risk assessment
  • workforce development
  • extension/education

The organizers invite you to submit abstracts for this session if you have research relevant to these areas of RAS to share. Please submit abstracts electronically (Aquaculture 2022 | Abstract Submission | World Aquaculture Society Meetings (was.org)) AND indicate that your abstract is targeted for the “Featured Session – RAS.” All submitted abstracts will be considered for inclusion in the session.
